Is Austin Worth It? West Campus and Beyond

Looks like we aren’t the only ones who find the numbers on West Campus condos to be impressive.  Our fellow Austinites and rehab experts over at New Western Acquisition recently featured our infographic on West Campus condos.

Our friends at New Western hit the nail on the head with the many reasons why Austin continues to boom.  We couldn’t agree more that the popularity and prestige of The University of Texas at Austin has and will always  play a big part in the growth of Austin.  I chose to attend The University of Texas and make Austin home 12 years ago and it’s still one of the best decisions I have ever made.

For those that have been here the last decade and longer to see the incredible growth with their own eyes, we have also seen the growing pains that come with it.  Increased traffic, iconic hangouts being torn down, and cost of living going up are a few of the bigger pain points you will hear murmured about throughout the streets.  However, I still believe in the soul of this city and think that the pros will always outweigh the cons.  As a community we can overcome obstacles and continue to grow in a positive direction.

Whether you’re a college kid new to town in your first West Campus apartment, a developer making the jump to Austin to work for a tech startup, or an Austin native (Unicorn as I call them) we all have something great to offer.  Don’t let yourself get caught up in the negatives, just be yourself and let’s continue to Keep Austin Weird for generations to come!
